![]() ![]() Smile has continually strived to improve this product, which I regard as the 'Swiss Army Knife' of PDF tools, and continually releases free updates and occasional major fee based upgrades, often spaced years apart. I am an early adopter of PDFpen and upgraded when PDFpenPro was released, I still remember when Smile Software was nothing but a small kiosk at MacWorld., which is where I first purchased it, Since then may other less capable 'competitors ' have come and gone often with great ideas and promises but with little to show for them. ![]() Having seen a number of PDF products either released or upgraded recently and many of these costing between $10 & $100 triggered this review: I am happy investing in a good product that would provide me value long term and don't want to have to constantly switch, buy, and learn how to use new apps to have it accomplish what I need. Another alternative is to buy various apps piecemeal but the cost, time, and maintenance is even higher than just paying for PDFpenPro and upgrading every year. You want pretty or you want a workhorse? Frankly, I don't think a PDF editing program should be a subscription program unless it is web-based or there is some server or Cloud service involved where you are sharing data across a team of users and security is a concern. PDFelement seems to use other brands to marketing their own product and their quality is poor. PDFpen Expert as subscription without OCR, without form creation capabilities, without export features is a bit too high for a pretty UI. Adobe is too expensive and non-intuitive. The alternative is to lock yourself into yet another subscription. Smile's upgrade cost is pretty reasonable for their work. If you find the app useful, I think it is worthwhile to make sure you are running the latest version. I've seen great apps or apps with potential come and go because the developers can no longer support the app- very sad thing. It takes resources to create and develop software. Nothing of quality is free and needs maintenance. They also send you an email when they release a major version to let you know. For those who "accidentally" upgrade, there is a notice informing users when it is a paid upgrade. You are not "locked-in" to a subscription, and the app is yours forever. I am looking forward to additional developments of PDFpenPro that can bring the app even closer to the offerings of Acrobat, but better than Acrobat.Īs more and more developers are going subscription, I don't mind the optional $30 upgrade to the next major version. Bugs? All apps have bugs and PDFpenPro seems to have less of it over time since they've been around for awhile, but a responsive developer who really works to address it is much appreciated. I contact support regularly if I come across any issues and they are very responsive. For instance, with PDFpenPro, I can create interactive forms, apply digital signatures, batch OCR, and with the latest version, view the same document in two screens! Someone mentioned it is the swiss-army knife of PDF editors for Mac and I agree 100%. Other apps have better marketing, but PDFpenPro really gets the job done. I am a long-time user of PDFpenPro but have also used Adobe Acrobat and other competing apps. We're proud to present to you the latest version of CMC Plus yet, CMC+ V8!Īs you may well know (or not, in which case continue reading!), CMC+ (stands for Character Making Community) is the biggest official modpack to date, including many, many character and stage mods both released here and exclusive to the modpack itself, as well as a myriad of perks and features that the other builds currently doesn't allow for (an all new Assist system, the ability to assign stages to characters for them to appear in in Classic Mode, alongside many more!). L-Cancelling: By pressing the shield or grab right before you hit the ground, you'll reduce the length of landing lag.ĭouble Jump Cancelling: Quickly attack after a double jump to cancel its upward acceleration. Here are a few techniques for when you want to get better. If you press shield while in midair, you'll initiate an aerial dodge. If you press down while shielding, you'll spot dodge, which makes you temporarily invincible and lets you punish moves quickly. To dodge, input a direction while you're shielding. These are inputted by picking a direction and hitting the special attack or just hitting the special attack for a neutral one.Īs for your defensive options, you have a shield and a dodge. ![]() Lastly, each character has four special attacks. Then you have your directional aerials, which are inputted by inputting a direction and an attack. You have a Neutral Aerial, which is inputted while you're in the air and not inputting a direction. When you input a direction while grabbing your opponent, you will throw them generally in that direction.Īerial attacks are inputted by jumping and then hitting the attack button. After you grab, if you input a normal attack, you will pummel your enemy - just don't pummel too long, because the enemy can escape your grab after a while. You also have a grab, which has two versions - a dash grab, which is generally slower but has more range, and a standing grab. You also have four smash attacks, inputted by either flicking the c stick in a certain direction or by smashing your directional stick (controller only) in a direction and inputting a normal attack at the same time. On the ground, here are your six attacks: A dash attack, an attack that will always come out when you attack during a dash, a neutral jab, which is attacking while standing still, and four tilt attacks, which is inputted while tilting your stick in a certain direction. Each character's normals and specials are unique and have different knockback and different hitboxes. ![]() Six ground attacks, four smash attacks, five aerial attacks, four special moves, and a grab, complete with a pummel and four direction throws. There are a few extra options compared to a normal smash game. The first thing you should do when you boot up the game is to go to the options and check your controls. Let's take a look at some of the basics, then get into the advanced techniques. It's unique enough that it has a ton of techniques that are only found in this game - and not only that, but some of these are keyboard-only techniques! I absolutely love this app! It’s by far the best free drawing app out there. I love this app so much! Can’t wait to see what other great things come out of it. I hope my two small suggestions help, as they could be helpful to other users and myself. This really, really is a great drawing app, and I definitely recommend it to people who may or even may not try it out. It would be helpful if we didn’t have to go searching for certain brushes each time we want them. Like I almost always use the Inking Pen, Fountain Pen, Colorless Round Brush, Hard Eraser, Hair Brush, Airbrush, Pencil Pal, and the Synthetic Round Bristle Brush in each of my works, and they almost all come from different pins. We can only have one already created pin at a time, but a lot of us mix different brushes from other pins. Another thing that could be added is for users to be able to create their own selection of brushes. This is a great tool for line art and could be VERY useful to users on here. Not the actual brush, but the tool were you can tap, make points that you can shape to lines curves. There are some things that could be added to this. This app is so, so good, and I’m definitely going to be using it for a long while. I’ve used other digital drawing apps in the past (like Medibang), but this is the app I found the highest liking to. This art app is so great!! I’ve been using it for about a year now and I love just about everything about it. Purchase the Premium Bundle to unlock more.

To get a more useful interface, you can pair it with a Jupyter Notebook. Graphics don’t work but general calculations do. When you download it and install it you can then run wolframscript in a cmd window and you get old-school command-line Mathematica. ![]() If you go here you’ll see that you can download the engine for developers and use it for free as long as you’re not trying to make money with it. I’ve spent lots of time looking for a replacement for the types of things I tend to work on, and it’s been a mixed bag.īut ever since I noticed that Wolfram (the company that makes Mathematica) put a free mathematica kernel (what they now call a Wolfram Engine) on the Raspberry Pis, I started keeping an eye out for ways to use the Wolfram Engine for free. And it’s hard to convince students to embrace it if they know they’ll lose it as soon as they graduate. Want access to tons of curated data sets that all play well together? Check.īut, ugh, what a cost. Of course, it definitely has value! The amount of development that’s been poured into it, including just in the last few years, is amazing. Student versions are more like $200 but there’s no question that it’s pricey, especially when compared with python-based computing. I did it on a Windows laptop so if you’re on a Mac of Linux you’ll have to make appropriate adjustments. In this post I’m going to try to capture the steps I took today to get a Jupyter Notebook to run Mathematica commands. ![]() ![]()

Mods can include titles released on PC including digital storefronts such as Steam (For titles such as Sonic Maniaand Team Sonic Racing) as well as mods for console games.
